Deck cleaning

Deck cleaning in Deer Park, gentle on the wood

Deck cleaning that takes the mildew and grime off at a pressure wooden boards can take, so the grain stays smooth.

We work out of Deer Park and clean decks across La Porte and the rest of east Harris County.

How we wash a deck

Clean boards, not fuzzy ones

Most deck damage from washing comes from treating wood like concrete. It is not.

Wood is soft

Pressure that is fine on concrete will chew a deck board. The pressure comes down a long way for wood.

Slippery boards

The green film on a shaded deck is mildew and algae. Wet, it is slick underfoot, and it is what most people want gone first.

Before you stain

If a stain or sealer is coming, the deck has to be clean and then dry before it goes on. We can plan the wash around that.

Patio or driveway as well? See driveway cleaning, or pressure washing for the house.

Common Questions

Deck cleaning questions

What people ask before they book.

Can you pressure wash a wooden deck?

Yes, at the right pressure. Too much raises the grain and leaves the boards fuzzy or gouged, so a deck is washed far more gently than a driveway.

Why is my deck green or black?

Mildew, algae and dirt that hold on in the shade and the humidity. It makes boards slippery when wet, which is the better reason to wash it.

Should I clean the deck before staining it?

Yes. Stain does not hold well on a dirty or mildewed board. If you plan to stain, tell us, and we will talk through timing so the wood has dried out first.

How much does deck cleaning cost?

It depends on the size of the deck and the state it is in, so we price it once we know the job. A photo is a good start.
